About Me and Learn This Phrase

As of September 2016, I am no longer updating this blog.

Learn This Phrase was a book blog I (Blair) wrote between 2011 and 2016. I've now moved to TinyLetter, writing a newsletter that's a sort of condensed, more readable version of this blog, with book reviews, recommendations, lists and links. If you'd like, you can sign up for the Learn This Phrase newsletter here.

I also review and talk about books on Goodreads, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. I occasionally write for Nudge and newbooks magazine too.

See a list of my favourite books, browse all my book reviews, or view an index of full-length reviews (sorted alphabetically by author surname).

A baker's dozen of the more popular book reviews I published here:
The Many by Wyl Menmuir (July 2016)
— The Grownup by Gillian Flynn (September 2015)
— The Loney by Andrew Michael Hurley (May 2015)
— Things We Have in Common by Tasha Kavanagh (April 2015)
— Day Four by Sarah Lotz (March 2015)
— The Well by Catherine Chanter (November 2014)
— Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel (August 2014)
— Upstairs at the Party by Linda Grant and After Me Comes the Flood by Sarah Perry (July 2014)
